PvP character access to these areas is a permanent improvement. You may not want it as much as those other things, but it's still an improvement.

As for the rest, I highly doubt changing a few variables for drop rates, faction amounts, etc. require taking away development effort from other improvements. They're just trying to keep up interest in the game as they get ready to ramp up the hype machine for Nightfall.

I think most of us would like "beefier" improvements.

However, I'm guessing these weekend events take very little developer effort, so there's a lot of "bang for the buck". If it takes a developer only a few hours to set-up one of these weekends, it's not really keeping them from working on one of the more time-consuming additions.

Personally, I'm a fan of the weekends. And I'm very happy about PvP characters permanently having access to FA/JQ.

I assume that PvE chars that haven't yet reached FA/JQ can also access them through the temple? If so, awesome. Time to bond those Aspenwood gates.

This is great news ANet, good thing with the weekend thing, keep them comming.

If every weekend had something speciel to it, wow, that'd be awesome, even if it was just a pointless thing, like extra dye drops.

One word for the majority of the forum: UN-grateful.

sounds to me like they are trying to coax people back more than keeping the game interesting.but some people just like to ignore the obvious and would rather just dote on a.net and gw.but between the regular nerf-bat adventures since early on in gw and as a top hat the needless f'ing about with the nec and warrior and then the final straw of the gameshop.because of those things i now know no-one in rl who plays gw anymore(myself included),and thats quite a few people that loved the game as it was on going live.and between the 5 live mmorpg's and 4 beta mmorpg's i'm currently playing i have met 100's of players who have left gw because of a.nets insistance on fixing things that are not broken and ignoring some of the real needs the game has.1 example, because as far as i remember it's the oldest desirable,is the trade system.seen as they like to pinchideas from the real freebie mmo's(gameshop)why not implement the same trading system most of them use, where you opt to freeze your char and open a personel shop.not only is this a much easier way to trade for both sides but it also rids the chat of almost all trade spam and removes all trade scams other than blatent over-pricing(which is realy a scam but).

so cool knightfall is almost upon us,thanks but no thanks.there are many other games to choose from at the moment and most of them are real free-to-play games.also looking forward to 4 more beta's that i have been invited to test, mostly 9dragons-the first real martial arts based mmorpg(looks fantastic).

we all see things differently,so if your still enjoying gw then credit to you and have fun.those who feel the same and want to move on then a good place to start is gamengame as they host some of the more recent live games(most of which are free-for-life)as well as many open and closed beta's for f-f-l and p-t-p games.either way cya round guys and good gaming.

they are making it more interesting but the perpetual whiner cant stop.

since you left long ago why dont you stay gone instead of returning for bitter little whimpers?

if the others are so much better why are you not spending your time having fantabulous fun on them instead of coming back here?

I want double ***** in my ***.. GIVE IT TO ME ANET!

good point on the leeches though.. now anybody can leech kinda like letting peeps into the elite mission from keineng center.. they really need to fix where an afk does'nt get the faction- at least make it so someone who just has to do it uses a macro and puts himself at risk for a ban.. way it is now anyone can afk there with one click leave come back one click- robbing a spot for people who just want to play..

"with the PvP character access remaining open even after the event ends."

Well there goes the only reason I play FA/JQ

glad to see that anet is making more events - Gj Anet!!! - and finnaly jade quary might see some action for once defenitly will be there this weekend that and this event will drive down prices of jade and amber making it easer to get 15k armor which is nice though sell all the amber and jade u have right now before prices plumet - lol

and to those who are whining and saying anet doin this to keep the customers blah blah blah - if ur so disappointed in anet and the direction its goin w/ gw y dont u just go play some other game i mean its not like any1 forcing u to play in ur eyes a bad game, so just go of ur merry way playing some game that u like and leave the 1s that actually apreciate these events alone

anyway cant w8 to start getting lots of faction this weekand

I wish they'd just be forward with these event names and stop bullshitting.

Elite weekend event should've been called 'Everyone can use the GH trick' weekend.

Double chest drop weekend should be called 'Chest Run weekend'

Now this weekend... why can't they just call it 'Leech weekend' and get it over with.

This weekend event is gonna be full of so many leechers it'll be unplayable. That and all the Kurzicks need to do is bring a Bonder and victory is almost certain.

Yes that will be a problem this weekend. Retired leechers will be back and those that are leeching now will continue to do so. This event will also spawn a whole new bunch of leechers.

Good news I get to try out FA as a Mesmer or maybe an Ele.

The moment I read "double the faction," I instantly thought "double the leeching." Seriously, the afks are what made Fort Aspenwood unjoyable to me(no matter what side), and eventually made me stop playing there altogether about a month ago.

On the other hand, this is probably a good chance to map out the Jade Quarry with all my characters. I'll be looking forward to that.

Oh, yes! Finally! Hopefully I will be able to do the jade quarry for the first time ever! No abbandoned ghost quarry FTW!

And this will lower jade and amber prices to like 100 gold each! Double yay!
